about

Hold out is a song about battling mental health everyday. As someone who experiences chronic depression and anxiety I use my obstacles and transmute it into something positive. It’s also a song about gender dysmorphia and going beyond what society and how they try to categorise us into small boxes. I wrote and recorded this song with Raph Ninot together we produced it in their home studio in Muswell hill. The song pretty much wrote itself, everything just flowed like it was meant to be. After a year of holding the track close I’ve decided it’s ready to be released in the world as I feel it’s the right time. All of my generation are pioneers of the truth and we are trying the best to make it better for the people who inhabit it, we are creating a new way of being and the song conveys that. We hold out for hope because it’s free and it’s all we have got to make living bearable. This song is for anybody who needs hope right now. I hear you and feel you. I hope you know you’re not alone.

lyrics

Go down my ends
Its impossible to hate
What i’ve always known
It was just a dream
And now  I’m free
I’m grown

Gotta hold on
Hold out
For some hope

Gotta hold on
Hold out
For some hope

Intuitions getting stronger
Everyday
New ideas
Pioneer
I pave the way

Gotta hold on
Hold out
For some hope

Gotta hold on
Hold out

adventures
Were about to go on
One with the universe
nothing hurts anymore
nothing hurts anymore

Beyond these binaries
We’re building dynasties
We won’t go down quietly

It’s sad when they pretend
Find themselves trapped
While we ascend

More to life than being cool
I just wanna stop
and watch the moon

Gotta hold on
Hold out
For some hope

Gotta hold on
Hold out
For some hope

about

Delilah Holliday London, UK

Delilah Holliday, North London’s homegrown DIY icon, makes electronic art pop with layers of trip hop. Sonically she’s transportive, but in her lyrics Delilah keeps things grounded. She revels in otherworldly sounds and visuals that play with the abstract, the psychedelic and the conceptual, but the lived experiences she mines for creativity remain at the core of what she does. ... more
